2001 Ducati MH900e Mike Hailwood from my personal collection
My Hailwood edition has been nicely upgraded with Staintune exhaust, Ohlins shock and steering damper. It also comes with all original components as well. Yes, the original promotional shirt, collector plaque, and display stand are included. The bike is in very good condition with low miles. It has always been a crowd favorite and will make a great addition to your collection as it did mine. I am torn on the prospect of giving up this beautifully designed, Pierre Terblanche creation. However, as life happens, somethings must be passed on. The story behind the MH900e, .....as a concept created by the Ducati designer Pierre Terblanche in homage to Mike Hailwood's 1978 win of the Isle of Man TT. Giving way to the model designation "MH". In September 1998 the sketch was presented to the general public at the Intermot Show in Munich and met with rave reviews. Due to the enthusiastic response from the press and public, Ducati decided to post a questionnaire on their website to test the true interest of the MH900e fans. 300 Ducatisti responded positively. With this information, Federico Minoli and Massimo Bordi (General Manager of Ducati) decided to take the risk and produce a limited run of two thousand hand-built bikes. The first one thousand bikes would be produced in 2000 and the second thousand would be produced in 2001. The sale of the MH900e was as unique as the bike itself. Ducati made the decision to sell the new bike directly to the consumer exclusively via the Internet in a form of e-commerce known as B-2-C (Business to Consumer). This was a first for any motorcycle manufacturer. It was a risky move, but the result could not have been any better The Ducati website opened for orders on January 1, 2000 at 00:01am GMT at a price of Euro 15,000. The first 1000 units were sold out in 31 short minutes. The remaining bikes were sold over the next few weeks. Individuals made purchases from 20 different countries. New Spy Photo of Near-Complete 2013 Ducati Multistrada/Hyperstrada 848
Wed, 11 Jul 2012The latest spy photo of Ducati‘s upcoming 848-engined model continues to muddle the debate as to whether the new motorcycle is a Hypermotard or a Multistrada. The new model appears to blend elements of the two existing bikes with the liquid-cooled Testastretta 11° engine and an all-new frame. What will likely emerge is a new model with a couple of variations, a sport version and a touring version, This latest picture (the one shown below the jump has been tweaked for better contrast and a bit of sharpening) reveals the new side-mounted exhaust design and Ohlins suspension.
Ducati 1199 Panigale On The Dyno
Mon, 23 Jan 2012Italian magazine Motociclismo is one of the largest and most influential motorcycle publications in all of Europe, and they’ve captured this clip of a Ducati test rider running the new 1199 Panigale on the dyno. Rider wearing full gear aside (he even flips down his faceshield!), what sticks out to me is how quickly the new Superquadro engine accelerates through its rev range. I was also impressed at the length it took before the rev limiter was reached.
Ducati Desmosedici GP12 Officially Unveiled – Video
Mon, 19 Mar 2012Ducati unveiled its Desmosedici GP12 race bikes in on online presentation streamed over Facebook. With the machine officially revealed, the pressure now turns to factory riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden who try to rebound in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship after a difficult 2011 season. The 2012 livery adds a touch of green striping resembling the tricolore version of the Ducati 1199 Panigale S and celebrating the company’s Italian heritage.
