Ducati Other description

I AM CLOSING MY VINTAGE INDUSTRIAL ARTS RESTORATION AND RENOVATION SHOP AND RELOCATING. THIS IS A PROJECT I AM NOT GOING TO GET TO AND AM NOW SELLING TO LIGHTEN THE LOAD. I HAVE A WONDERFUL 250 DIANA AND DECIDED TO BUILD A 350 VERSION JUST FOR MORE INSANE ROAD BURNING FUN. THE FRAME IS A MONZA TRIMMED OF A FEW EXTRA TABS AND CARRYING NO TOOL BOX'S LIKE THE EARLY DIANA. IT STILL HAS ITS FOIL ID GIVING YOU A VALID VIN NUMBER TO REGISTER IT WITH.
THE MOTOR IS A NARROW CASE 35O SOURCED FROM A SCRAMBLER WITH A HIGH COMPRESSION PISTON AND MAGNETO IGNITION LIKE THE DIANA. IT WAS FRESH AND FAST WHEN REMOVED AND HAS A LOT OF COMPRESSION. CARBURETOR IS AN EXCELLENT UN MUNGED LIGHTLY USED DELLORTO 29 SS WITH EXTRA LONG VELOCITY STACK. HEADER PIPE AND GLAND NUT ARE NEW. MEGAPHONE IS A DUCATI REPLICA FROM GERMANY.
WHEELSET IS GRIMACA DRUMS AND RADAELLI RIMS FROM A 250 MONZA. VERY STRAIGHT TIGHT FRONT FORK AND NEW OLD STOCK KONI SHOCKS ON THE REAR. SADDLE IS A MACH ONE REPLICA I PICKED UP IN ITALY.
THE TANK I BOUGHT IN ITALY FROM A FRIEND. SOME YEARS AGO HE BOUGHT A NEW DAYTONA 250 TANK, THE LARGEST CAPACITY OF THE MACH ONE DIANA 200/250 GT AND DAYTONA STYLE TANKS TO HAVE IT CHROMED FOR A SPECIAL HE BUILT. HAVING CHEAPED OUT ON THE CHROME JOB AND SKIPPING THE COPPER AND NICKLE IT PEELED A FEW YEARS LATER AND HE SOLD IT TO ME. IT IS PERFECTLY STRAIGHT NO DENTS WITH PEELING CHROME. INSIDE IS RUST FREE.
HEADLIGHT IS A PERFECT 150MM APRILIA WITH NEW BEZEL AND NO OTHER GUTS LIKE A DIANA. HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS ONLY THE HANDLE AND NO SWITCH.
THE TOP CLAMP IS A GENUINE DUCATI ALLOY SMOOTHIE AND THE CLIP ONS ARE ALSO DUCATI AND NEED REPLATING. LEVERS ARE EARLY DUCATI ALLOY SMALL TIPS AND GRIPS ARE EARLY STYLE REPRODUCTION DUCATI. DIMMER/HORN SWITCH IS PERFECT APRILIA.
TIRES ARE BRAND NEW DURO'S. FRONT FENDER IS EARLY MONZA ABOUT A 1/4 INCH WIDER THEN THE MACH ONE FENDER AND THE REAR IS EARLY MONZA. THIS REAR FENDER IS THE SAME AS A MACH ONE REAR FENDER BUT WITH A VALANCE. THE VALANCE IS REMOVED EASILY STILL LEAVING A FINISHED TURNED UNDER EDGE IDENTICAL TO A DIANA OR MACH ONE. REAR TAILIGHT BRACKET IS CEV AND WILL REQUIRE A EASILY SOURCED CEV TAILIGHT.
THE PASSENGER PEGS ARE DUCATI 750 GT WITH NEW RUBBERS.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST ARE THE VEGLIA 150 MPH SPEEDO WITH EARLY TYPE BEZEL AND THE ORIGINAL EARLY FACE VEGLIA TACHOMETER AND ORIGINAL VEGLIA STEEL MOUNTING BRACKET CABLE AND CAM DRIVE.
ALL THE GOODIES ARE HERE TO PAINT AND ASSEMBLE  INTO A FAST FUN LIGHT DUCATI MACH ONE CLONE ONLY FASTER AND LIGHTER LIKE THE DIANA WITH NO BATTERY AND REGULATOR ETC TO CARRY WITH THE MAGNETO FOR JUICE.COMES ONLY WITH PARTS SHOWN,  NO CABLES NO HEADLIGHT LENS AND REFLECTOR NO WIRING  .. A NICE PAIR OF ALLOYS WOULD BE A GOOD ADDITION AS THE CHROME ON THE STEEL RIMS IS IN DECLINE.

ALL THE GOODIES FOR A FANTASTIC 350 DUCATI MACH ONE DIANA CLONE ARE HERE IN ONE CAREFULLY COLLECTED JUST HUNG TOGETHER PROJECT. YOU ALL KNOW HOW VALUABLE AND HARD TO TRACK DOWN THESE PARTS ARE. MY RESERVE IS A LOT LESS THEN IF I PART IT OUT.

THERE IS NO TITLE AND ONLY COMES WITH BILL OF SALE. MISSING PAPERS ARE NO LONGER A PROBLEM IN MOST STATES NOW. THIS BIKE HERE IN NEW YORK WOULD GET A TRANSFERABLE REGISTRATION. I AM ABLE TO GET A REG AND PLATE FOR ANY VINTAGE BIKE NOW IN THE SAME DAY AS LONG AS I HAVE PROOF OF INSURANCE.

Carlos Checa Tests Superbike-Spec 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale at World Ducati Week

Thu, 21 Jun 2012

Revellers at 2012 World Ducati Week got a surprise treat with defending World Superbike Champion Carlos Checa completing an unscheduled test of the WSBK-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale. The Althea Ducati racer has ridden the production version of the Panigale but this marked his first test of the WSBK-spec version. His maiden ride of the WSBK Panigale was supposed to take place at Mugello but instead Checa and Ducati decided to give the Ducatisti a treat at the Misano circuit for WDW.

This looks more like Rossi

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

At Brno today Valentino Rossi had a positive session in free practice, finishing closer and within half a second of the fastest time set by Dani Pedrosa. With a best of 1:57.315 and only .457 off Pedrosa's 1:56.858 lap. But it's not just the time that is encouraging, it's the first time in a long while that Rossi has looked more like his old self on the Desmosedici. "I’m happy because we went pretty well today, and in particular, the gap to the front makes us fairly optimistic," Rossi said after free practice.

Investindustrial to Sell Ducati

Mon, 13 Feb 2012

Ducati may be up for sale again, according to a report by The Financial Times. The Italian manufacturer’s primary owner, private equity firm Investindustrial, is reportedly looking for a buyer in either the automotive industry or a rival motorcycle maker. The firm’s chairman, Andrea Bonomi, told Financial Times the time is right for finding a buyer.
