Ducati Multistrada description

2006 Ducati Multistrada 1000s DS, Italian beast with plenty of options - THRILLING PERFORMANCE If you’re looking for versatility, maximum performance and superb componentry, then look no further than the Ducati Multistrada 1000s DS. It is this extreme versatility and sport performance that prompted the US magazine Cycle World, the world’s best selling motorcycling monthly, to nominate the 1000s DS “Best Sport Tourer of 2005”. The Multistrada 1000s DS retains the powerful 992 cc engine, and adds carbon fiber belt covers. Powerful, reliable and high torque even at low revs, the engine gives lightning-fast acceleration and outstanding linear power delivery. Suspension is, quite simply, superb: the fully adjustable TiN-treated Öhlins fork provides superior road-holding. The rear shock (Öhlins again) is fully adjustable and features a remote preload adjuster for quick situation tuning without the need for tools. A top-quality aluminum alloy rear swingarm and tapered alloy handlebars are also featured on the “S” model.

Ducati Multistrada Ready for Serious Update?

Tue, 13 Jan 2009

This fabed-up image from a French magazine of what a new Ducati Multistrada might look like is more like a fable than fact. If nothing else, the Internet is great for generating entertaining rumors, speculative talk, spewing hearsay, etc, etc. With the exception of chatter on where the next lucky third-world orphan to be assimilated by Brangelina might come from, nothing seems to spread faster than talk of a venerated bike receiving a thorough update.

848 Challenge Oulton Park official race report

Mon, 09 Jul 2012

An emphatic and confident double win for James Folkard (Minards Pavlou Solicitors/Win43.com) this weekend cemented his position as one of the front-runners in the Ducati 848 Challenge. After some strong results at Snetterton and Misano, a first win for the man from Liverpool seemed inevitable, and this weekend at the Ducati Manchester sponsored Oulton Park round he walked away with a maximum points haul. Robbie Brown (Ducati Manchester) could only manage a third and a second despite feeling good about his chances for a victory, but he won’t be getting too worried yet as he extended his lead over closest rival Darren Fry (Hirebase Ducati Coventry) to 62.5 points.

New Spy Photo of Near-Complete 2013 Ducati Multistrada/Hyperstrada 848

Wed, 11 Jul 2012

The latest spy photo of Ducati‘s upcoming 848-engined model continues to muddle the debate as to whether the new motorcycle is a Hypermotard or a Multistrada. The new model appears to blend elements of the two existing bikes with the liquid-cooled Testastretta11 engine and an all-new frame. What will likely emerge is a new model with a couple of variations, a sport version and a touring version, This latest picture (the one shown below the jump has been tweaked for better contrast and a bit of sharpening) reveals the new side-mounted exhaust design and Ohlins suspension.
