Ducati Monster description

For sale is a low mileage 2005 Ducati Monster 1000 DS. Adult owned. This Bike is in excellent condition, has been well maintained and is currently registered. (It passed state inspection on 5/14/16) The "DS" designates that this motor uses 2 spark plugs per cylinder head.
I bought the bike used from Great Bay Motorcycles in NH in 2007 with 2,827 miles on it. It has always been garaged since I've owned it. The Bike is all stock except for the Ducati Performance slip on's. I put new Pirelli's on it last season and they still look like new. I replaced the clutch with a Barnett clutch @ 13,900 miles. The cam belts have been changed at around 12,000.  The valves should be checked at the next service interval (18,600 miles) and the drive chain will need replacing in the near future.
This bike has not been in any accidents and has not been down or fallen over. The right rear turn signal arm has a crack in the plastic and is covered with electrical tape shown in the photo.
The bike starts, runs and drives excellent.
There is a factory seat cowl that comes with the bike and I tried to show it with and without in the photos.
The front and rear rims have some small chips along the edges that have been touched up with a small brush / paint.
The title is clean and in my possession. I have all 3 original keys that came with the bike.
I would prefer to sell locally but if you make arrangements I will accommodate a transport company.
I will accept a $1000. deposit through PayPal. The balance in a cashier's check or cash.
This item has a no return policy.

Looking after number 1

Fri, 06 Jan 2012

There was a time when a rider’s number indicated his position from the previous season, with the ultimate accolade being the number 1 emblazoned on the front of the champion's bike. The rise of branding in MotoGP and a rider wanting to market themselves, born from Barry Sheene and his retention of no.7, saw riders decide against displaying their finish from the year before. Rossi, who on winning his numerous championships, stuck with his famous #46 in defence of his titles, instead of stamping a great number 1 on his bikes.

Ducati Streetfighter 848 Inspired Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG

Thu, 01 Dec 2011

The partnership between Ducati and Mercedes-AMG has produced some new fruit, this time a Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG inspired by the Ducati Streetfighter 848′s “Fighter Yellow” color. It’s been over a year since Ducati and Mercedes-Benz’ performance brand AMG signed a cooperation agreement at the 2010 LA Auto Show. Back in September, the two brands came together to produce the special edition Ducati Diavel AMG at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
