Buell Lightning description

2004 Buell Lightning XB12S, Please finish my project! I started building this the winter of 2007 but had other commitments and am unable to finish. Im a mechanical engineer so the spring rates, gear ratios, and fork angle are all calculated and not just thrown together. I fogged the cylinders, oil tank and gas tank several times since I purchased them so rust shouldnt be an issue. Odometer was not readable, so mileage is not accurate! Frame: Full custom build mild steel frame, tig welded, heavy wall over-slung design, Integrated oil tank, 80% complete, still needs a couple tubes, mounting tabs, seat mount, ect. Triple Trees: Custom designed and CNC machined billet aluminum to adapt the forks to the standard neck. The pivot is 1 DIA but not finished, I just mocked something up to get the forks mounted. The other parts of off of a Buell XB12 Lightning, Suzuki GSXR1000, Yamaha R6, and Buell S1. I apologize but I dont remember all the specifics (exact year, mileage, ect). All the parts are from the 2000s except the rear swing arm (1999 I believe) and low mileage in good condition. 2003-2004 Suzuki GSXR1000 - Forks - Front Brakes - Rear Brakes - Wheels - Controls and Levers 2004 Buell XB12 Lightning - Engine and Trans. 1200cc Buell engine is basically a sporster with a little hotter heads and cams. I dont know the mileage since I purchased it as a salvage and the instrument cluster was gone, but it did run. - Oil Cooler - If I can find the wire harness, ECU, and fuel injectors I will include them but I was planning on converting it to carbureted, I havent heard a lot of good things about custom tuning Buells fuel injection system. - Header - Original Frame and swing arm with title. You dont need to take these but the title is for the frame and engine and Im not sure what you need to title the bike. 2005 Yamaha R6: - Rear Shock 1999 Buell S1 - Rear swing-arm. Its actually inverted from the factory configuration and the shock mount is welded on. It is about a off-center right now, the fab shop I had weld it messed it up. It would function fine but isnt centered. Other Misc Parts: - Chain Drive conversion front sprocket for the Buell - Aluminum Rear Sprocket - Gold Chain - Universal braided steel brake lines. - Iron Eagle Slim Seat. I purchased it new but it does have a couple dimples and a small tear on the edge. - Gas Tank and Fender, I dont remember the manufacturers, what you see is what you get, some surface rust from sitting in the shop but nothing serious and the fuel petcock and breather need to be re-located. I was planning to mount the rear fender to the swing-arm and it fits the tire perfectly. - Brand new tires mounted and balanced, I dont remember the manufacturer but I know they are not cheap imports (NOT Chen-shen, ect) All the major components are there just needs someone to finish it. $4,000.00 6168130380

Erik Buell Racing Streetbike Peers Out of the Darkness with LED Headlight

Fri, 09 Aug 2013

Erik Buell Racing released another teaser image of its upcoming new production streetbike, revealing a new headlight design with twin LEDs. The teaser image (see the full image below) is thick with shadows so we can’t see very much else beyond the front tire, part of an upside-down fork and a glint of a brake lever. The headlight however is the clear focal point of the photograph.

EBR First American Sportbike To Score Points In WSBK, Makes History

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

The EBR 1190RX had its best finish to date in the FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK) series during the only US round at Laguna Seca in Salinas, Calif., this past weekend. In an exciting twist, the wild card entry of Larry Pegram running the #72 Foremost Insurance/EBR/AMSOIL/Hero entry garnered a 14th place finish in the second race, earning the first-ever WSBK points for an American motorcycle manufacturer.  [In actuality, Pegram's EBR crossed the line in 16th place. However, the two Bimota BB3 entries who finished eighth and ninth with riders Ayrton Badovini and Christian Iddon, respectively, have had their finishes nullified all season because Bimota has not met the FIM's homologation requirements.
