Erik Buell Racing Teases 1190RX Production Model

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

Erik Buell Racing released a photograph on its Facebook page teasing a new streetbike expected to be called the 1190RX. Official details are sparse at the moment, but the new EBR 1190RX is expected to be a street-legal version of the 1190RS racebike, as the image (see the full version below) sports a pillion seat and pegs, mirrors, lighting and license plate holder. The engine is expected to be based on the 1190cc liquid-cooled V-Twin equipped on the RS.

Earlier this week, Erik Buell Racing took the wraps off the all-new 2014 EBR 1190RX at the AIMExpo in Orlando, Florida. A more affordable offspring of the race-derived 1190RS, this RX version packs a lot of punch for a much more reasonable $18,995 price tag. Starting with the V-Twin engine, the powerful unit makes 185 hp and a whopping 102 ft.-lbs.

EBR Nation Part 3: Made In America

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

Erik Buell Racing has released the third episode of its series about the new 1190RS sportbike. The latest episode focuses on the company’s “Made in America” philosophy, with its goal of producing a high-performance superbike in the U.S.A. As Erik Buell, racer Geoff May and designer Tony Stefanelli discuss the themes of innovation and freedom, we can’t help but wonder however whether they’re talking about American ideals, or about being out from Harley-Davidson’s umbrella.
