BSA Thunderbolt description

Absolutely beautiful 1966 BSA Thunderbolt. This bike is a very nice specimen and retains its originality other than the paint and exhaust silencers. The bike is not perfect but absolutely stunning considering it has not been nut and bolt restored. 1467 miles on the odometer but engine was balanced and rebuilt less than 500 miles ago. This  bike starts very easily and runs like a top, it doesn't spit, sputter, pop or miss EVER. Only drips a drop of oil from the automatic chain oiler because its supposed to, plugging it is an option but I like things the way they are supposed to be so I let it drip. Some of the rubbers; shifter, centerstand and pegs could be replaced but not necessary. The speedometer just stopped working and is a pretty simple and cheap repair.. Honestly if your looking for a clean thunderbolt this is it. I ride this bike without hesitation wherever I want. The tires are great and she's an attention getter wherever she goes! Like I already mentioned and the pictures show, This bike is not perfect but is damn close to it being 50 years old and predominantly original. The paint is not the factory scheme but it fits the period and looks awesome. The exhaust silencers are not original but the bike sounds so awesome that I couldn't bring myself to go back to stock. Bid with complete confidence on this sweet piece of history and if you have any questions feel free to call me. My name is Ben. 3132657728. I can possibly deliver the bike to the buyer for a fee depending on the location. I live just outside of Detroit and right down the street from British only motorcycle parts.. Anything you could possibly want or need for this bike is available from them for a reasonable price. I checked into the speedometer last week and they will swap it out or have it rebuilt for $200, your choice! They also have the rear grab bar and the rubbers I mentioned for $75.. Keep in mind the bike retains the original rubbers now and for that exact reason I didn't replace them.. Don't miss out on this bike and good luck bidding...

The Steve McQueen Desert Racer

Tue, 24 Mar 2009

There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.

Paul Teutel Senior of “American Chopper” fame is having a clear-out of his bike collection but the machines on offer are a far cry from the overblown customs he's renowned for building.
