BMW R-Series description

You are bidding on a 2006 Red BMW R1200 GS Adventure with only 19,227 miles on it. The tires have 3000 miles on them. I changed the oil 200 miles ago. This bike has been well maintained since I bought it from the dealers. I am the second owner. It has never been dropped, or mishandled since it's been in my possession. It has no damages, if anything maybe light wear from it being driven.

I am also putting up the matching BMW Motorrad gloves, bag, and side boxes, a maroon Nolan helmet along with the oil filter wrench. You can see all of them in the photos.

You must pick up this motorcycle, I will not be shipping it anywhere.

On Aug-26-13 at 07:14:00 PDT, seller added the following information:

I do not have a problem with you hiring a company to pick this motorcycle up. I just do not want to be held responsible for their action. As long as they take care of the packaging and placing in the truck, I do not have a problem.

OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes

Sat, 01 Nov 2008

KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.

Ridden: BMW R1200GS Adventure

Fri, 07 Oct 2011

My first meeting with a BMW GS was an unfortunate one. It was going back a few years now (certainly pre-Charlie McGregor era) Having just picked up this new model, I’d ridden 100 miles on a warm summer’s evening to reach my house by dusk. Mindful of the fact that said house contained two frenetic, bark-happy border collies and a small, sleeping child, I cut the ignition, whipped the clutch in and planned a gentle coast up to the area outside my front door.

BMW Sales Down 2.3% in First Half of 2012 but Record Finish Still Predicted

Fri, 06 Jul 2012

BMW predicts a record year for motorcycle sales despite a 2.3% dip over the first six months. The first half of 2012 saw BMW sell 59,189 units, down from the 60,580 units reported for the same period in 2011. The decrease is primarily because of a 13.2% drop in sales in June.
