I bought this bike on eBay in June of 2014 and rode it to my garage which is a mile from my dealership. Had to have it. Well I have never ridden it since. I have 17 motorcycles and by year end I will have none! I want one new BMW R1200GSA which I will purchase when they are all gone. So this bike was just serviced at the Beemer Barn in Johnson Creek NY. They are our local BMW experts and they have it ready to go. A new battery was installed as well. The pictures tell the story. Bike is in nice condition but not pristine. It runs and rides like a Swiss watch. It is being sold as is....New York State safety inspected only. Please ask any and all questions before you bid/buy. All sales are final. This is a taxable transaction for New York residents. All others are subject to their own states taxes and or fees but NOT the New York tax. BMW Recalls 4,453 Motorcycles and Scooters for Side Stand Switch Problem
Thu, 13 Mar 2014BMW has initiated a recall on several motorcycle and scooter models because of a problem with the side stand switches failing in wet conditions. The recall affects 4,453 vehicles from the 2013 model year including the C600 Sport and C650GT scooters, F700GS, F800GS, F800GS Adventure, F800GT, R1200R and R1200GS. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, water may enter the side stand switch on affected vehicles from riding in wet conditions or even from vigorous washing.

Fri, 24 May 2013BMW revealed a new concept to mark the company’s 90th year in the motorcycle business while also paying tribute to a classic: the BMW R90S. (UPDATED with video.) The product of a collaboration between the BMW Motorrad Design studio and Roland Sands Designs, the BMW Concept Ninety will be displayed alongside other classic BMW motorcycles at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, May 24-26 in Italy. The Concept Ninety carries many styling cues from the R90S, BMW’s classic superbike.

It was going back a few years now (certainly pre-Charlie McGregor era) Having just picked up this new model, I’d ridden 100 miles on a warm summer’s evening to reach my house by dusk. Mindful of the fact that said house contained two frenetic, bark-happy border collies and a small, sleeping child, I cut the ignition, whipped the clutch in and planned a gentle coast up to the area outside my front door.
