BMW R-Series description

Time to sell my 1975 BMW R90/6. If you are looking for a mid-70's classic BMW, then this is it. All numbers match. Bike has been gone through with a complete cosmetic update, as well as new brake pads in the front, new Metzler front tire, carburetors completely rebuilt and synchronized, new push rod tube rubbers installed, new steering head bearings, new throttle cables, all fluids changed, new filters, newer OEM rear shocks, paint touched up, etc. Front end has been rebuilt with new bushings, seals and has a progressive front suspension installed, and has the much more attractive sport gas tank. The OEM mufflers and Bumm mirrors are in excellent condition, . Bike runs and rides great and mechanically everything works as it should. I do not have the key for the fork lock or seat lock. Seems to have disappeared. I never found a need to lock them anyway. Comes complete with a set of original tools. This is a 40 + year old bike that is in overall great shape! 56,000 original miles. Strong dependable runner. Bike is sold as is, where is, and has no warranty, so please ask any questions before bidding. If you are within driving distance and would like to look at the bike, please send me an email. Bike is also advertised elsewhere. Any shipping must be arranged and paid by buyer.

The R nineT is a special model for BMW, representing the company’s 90 years in the motorcycle industry, so it’s no surprise the start of production was made with much fanfare. BMW invited 100 guests including the team from German customization studio Urban Motor to watch assembly of the first three units of the R nineT including the final dynamometer testing where more than 1,000 different parameters are measured before a motorcycle can be released.

Milan Show: Moto2 tried and tested

Tue, 02 Nov 2010

The insanity of Moto2 doesn't seem like the right home for the elegance of the Rizoma brand. But the Rizoma ProGuard system has helped secure the levers of Toni Elias on his road to championship success in the inaugural Moto2 season. The example above was on an attractive Rizoma-enhanced BMW S1000RR, but the lever guards are not limited to sports bikes, they were also visible on Yamaha's FZ8.  The patented design can tilt up to 10 degrees providing full lever coverage and can be added by simply replacing the bike's existing bar-ends.
