BMW Other description

2009 BMW G 650 GS, Wouldn't this look great with a big red bow, sitting next to the Christmas tree this year? Low miles 3,711. ABS Heated Grips. Nearly perfect. Class Dual-sport Engine: 652 cc, Single-cylinder, Water-cooled, Four-stroke, DOHC, 4 valves Power: 50 hp @ 6500 rpm Torque: 44 lbft @ 5000 rpm Transmission: 5-speed, O-Ring Chain Brakes: Front: 1 disc, 2 piston caliper; Rear: 1 disc, 1 piston caliper; ABS Tires: 19 inch front, 17 inch rear Seat height: 30.9 in Weight: 387 lb (dry) Fuel capacity: 4.6 US gal Design and Technology: The 650GS has several advanced technology features, with computer-controlled fuel injection, catalytic converter, a Nikasil-lined cylinder, optional ABS and an airbox designed to exploit the airflow pattern of the bike when in motion. Combined with the bike's high compression ratio and twin spark plugs, excellent fuel economy and low emissions existed alongside high power output. The original F650 single-engine was manufactured for BMW by Austrian company Rotax while the bike was assembled by Aprilia. When the 650GS was launched, the full process was brought back in-house. Additionally: The engine was upgraded to a 43 mm throttle body. The fuel is stored in an under seat fuel tank, And the false tank (where a conventional fuel tank would be) houses the remote oil reservoir (for the dry sump), airbox and battery. This contributes to a lower centre of gravity for improved handling. The bodywork was redesigned by head BMW designer David Robb. The 650GS has a large aftermarket accessories range and a sizeable owner community. BMW also developed a large range of factory original hard luggage for the bike. For those weekend who want the cache of owning a BMW without spending a boatload of cash, the engineering-intensive 650GS is truly a bargain. It's also perhaps the easiest BMW in history to ride. $8,890.00 2188412126

The future of law enforcement?

Mon, 12 Jul 2010

THANKFULLY you're not looking at latest addition to the US Police force's motorcycle fleet - it's the futuristic machine that featured in the 2009 movie "Star Trek" .It's being prepped before being suspended mid-air in the "Born to be Wild: Vintage and Celebrity Motorcycles" exhibition in the Reagan Library's Air Force One Pavilion in Simi Valley, California. Looks a bit like a BMW R1200S, don't you think?
