BMW K-Series description

Up for auction is a 1999 BMW K1200 LT. This Motorcycle has just over 54,000 miles and still running strong. The condition would best described as ”Fair” and well used. This bike has several bumps, scrapes, scratches, and rubs throughout, but it runs absolutely terrific.

Cons:

Windscreen is sun stained and weathered. You can barely see through it. I’d recommend a replacement.

Primary seat padding is bad, repair is recommended.

When set on its side stand for long periods of time, the bike will slightly smoke upon start-up. It only lasts a couple minutes, and only on cold starts. (This issue is common with this model with low or high mileage, we usually set the bike on its center stand to avoid this altogether).

The shift indicator showing the gear selected does not work properly. No issues mechanically, it shifts smooth on all gears; you just need to remember to count them in your head when riding.

Pros:

Very well maintained.

Autocomm with FRS.

Many miles traveled, and still very trusted (just completed 500 mile trip last month).

Super comfortable with many accessories, including but not limited to, heated hand grips, cruise control, and a reverse function.

Clean and clear NV title.

Please bid with confidence as everything has been disclosed, if you have any additional questions, please ask. Any questions asked by the public will be displayed on the auction page for all others to read. Lastly, I welcome personal viewings or 3rd party mechanical review prior to auction close, but it must be done at location of bike.

Mon, 05 Nov 2012

While some moto publications are cutting back and constricting, Motorcycle.com is proud to announce the addition of a new editor to our masthead. MO readers, meet Jon Langston, our new Associate Editor. I knew Langston was a cool cat when I first met him at the Harley-Davidson Blackline unveiling in January 2011.
