BMW F-Series description

After an incredible run, I'm selling my beloved 'thumper' (as well as my 2012 BMW R1200 GS Rallye Edition), to help fund the purchase of an SUV for my family.

Unlike later models, 2005 BMW DAKAR F650GS is assembled in Germany with the legendary Rotax engine. With only 6500 miles, it has no rust, never been dropped, and always been garaged indoors.

The bike has been ridden gently and maintained religiously. It has thousands of dollars of aftermarket parts both on and off the bike, and comes geared up to go out for a perfect weekend outing or long adventure. Comes equipped with:
- OEM BMW engine guard
- Center Stand and heightened kickstand
- Fastway Evolution foot pegs
- TCI luggage carrier
- Touratech headlight grille
- Upgraded taillight
- Custom Cover
- Heated handgrips
- ABS brakes
- USB charging capability and plug for heated Gear
Original parts
- Foot pegs
- Tail lights
- Assorted bolts and spares
Comes with F650GS Haynes Manual

All maintenance done at BMW. I have the complete records of all work done to the bike.
Clean CA title in hand and registration paid through Aug 17.
Test ride with cash and DL in hand. Shipping out of state via freightquote (buyer pays for shipping, seller can help arrange).
Please email, call or text for more information.
Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!!

Capirex’s New Ride: the BMW M MotoGP Safety Car

Wed, 11 Apr 2012

Retired racer Loris Capirossi has been named BMW M MotoGP Expert, representing the official MotoGP safety car provider in the world championship. Since retiring from racing after the 2011 MotoGP season Capirossi has been serving as MotoGP’s Safety Adviser. That, plus his familiarity with the MotoGP paddock and its racing circuits, makes him the logical choice as an ambassador for BMW M, the German manufacturer’s racing-performance subsidiary.

2015 BMW S1000XR Spied – Inline-Four Multistrada Rival on the Way

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

Spy photographers have captured a new BMW adventure-tourer powered by the S1000RR’s Inline-Four engine. The new model, which we expect will be called the 2015 BMW S1000XR, will be more road-oriented than the company’s bread-and-butter GS line, offering a competitor to the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 or the recently reviewed Aprilia Caponord 1200. Other publications that have published the spy photos (Insella.it and MotorcyclistOnline for example) have put forward names such as S1000F or S1000 ADV for the new model, but a trademark application BMW filed with the USPTO suggests it may be introduced as the “S1000XR”.
